Social Development Minister Sisisi Tolashe has pledged her aid and commitment to strengthening South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) providers for the duration of an engagement using the agency's senior administrators in a strategic planning session in Cape Town.
Tolashe on Tuesday expressed her heartfelt congratulations to the various social grant beneficiaries, who excelled during the 2024 matric final exams.
On the 724 156 full-time learners who registered to the National Senior Certificate (NSC), 572 338 are social grant beneficiaries, symbolizing eighty one% in the registered pupils inside the training sector.
These learners achieved a commendable pass rate of 86%.
"This means that the investment decision government is earning from the lives of poor and susceptible youngsters is yielding a constructive effect in breaking intergenerational poverty," Tolashe claimed.
